The above quote is quite possibly one of my favorites from the time of our Founding Fathers. It speaks to the very heart of who I am as an individual. How? Well, let me give you a little background on myself:
I have spent the last 16 years in Christian ministry of some sort. I have been in youth ministry, college ministry, I was a Christian radio DJ, traveling preacher, etc. I have graduated from Bible College twice!! I have planned and trained most of my life to be a Pastor. Everything I have done has revolved around being in ministry.
However, over the last several years my eyes have been opened to the fact that America is no longer a country known for freedom and liberty. America is no longer the “Shining City on a hill.” As a nation and as a people we have lost our way!! We have abandon the principles our Founder’s used to establish this nation. We have turned our back on our heritage and in the process have fallen asleep and allowed traitors and enemies to take over the leadership in our land.
Many of us have been caught up in things that feel good or bring great pleasure. Many of us have spent our time gaining wealth and riches. Many of us have spent to much time doing other things (like myself) that we neglected Lady Liberties cry for help!
However a time has come for us to decide. Many of us have awaken to find our land in despair. Many of us have awaken to a land were tyranny is gaining ground everyday. Many of us HAVE awaken to the fact that WE are the ones called to revive our country. Many of us HAVE awaken to the fact that WE are the new leaders in this Second America Revolution!! Many of us HAVE awaken to the fact that it is, “our RIGHT and DUTY,” to throw off the chains of tyranny that are wrapping themselves around our freedoms!!
Just like in the above quote, “there is a time to preach, there is a time to pray, there is a time to work, there is a time to………..” However, the time we have come to now is the time to FIGHT!! America needs us!! The world needs us!!! If the lamp of liberty goes out in America, it goes out around the world!! WE ARE THE HOPE OF FREEDOM AND LIBERTY TO THE WORLD!!! Should we work? Yes! Should we pray? Yes!! But we MUST also fight to take back our country!! We MUST run for office. We MUST oppose bills and legislation that take away our liberties given to us by God and spelled out in the Constitution!! We are the the hope for our children and grandchildren!! May we not shrink back in fear. but stand strong and tall as we fight together!! May God Bless America again!! Until next time.
