I am crazy in love with my son Truett!! I can’t help myself sometimes!! I will catch myself looking at his picture on my phone or on my computer. I think about him all the time!! I can’t wait to get home just so I can hold him, play with him, and watch him sleep. In the midst of all of this there is this little thing I do that just melts my heart. While holding him I will draw him real close and begin to whisper in his ear over and over again, “I love you.” While he is bouncing around in my lap and I begin to do this he will embrace me and just relax as I repeat over and over, “I love you, I love you, I love you.” Sometimes he will giggle. Sometimes me will just rest in my arms and listen. It’s one of my favorite things to do.
It makes me wonder how often our Father draws us close in the midst of our day and just repeats, “I love you, I love you.” Just thinking about that brings tears to my eyes!! God our Father holds us in the midst of His busy day and all of life’s difficulties and loves to just tells us how much He loves us!! I really wish I would listen more for that little whisper from my Father. I think I wouldn’t worry as much on how the bills are going to be paid, or how I am going to pass my insurance exam ,or whether or not everything is right in the world. Sometimes God just wants to hold us and whisper, “I love you!”
