Is America experiencing a national awakening? As I write these words there are revivals breaking out all over the country. Places like Jena Louisiana, Lakeland Florida, Opelika Alabama, Seattle Washington, etc. are just a few of the places that are experiencing a move of God in their midst. Is this just the beginning? In the mid 90’s America was visited by a wave of revival that lasted for about 8 years……..the real question is…….did it ever end?
Because there are so many reports coming in from churches of God’s Spirit moving in powerful ways I am going to bring my study of revival to my blog. I will talk about past revivals, the characteristics of revival, what revival means for the community, states, and nation, as well as share my own person experience in the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, FL from 1997-2000.
I love what God is doing and I think we as followers of Christ need to be aware of the fact that God moves for a reason. He is wanting us to take His Presence to the streets of our cities. Many times we go to the lost but we go in our own strenght and power. Our Father wants us to use the power He has to do His work. I think that revival is God waking us up and empowering us to service. May His Spirit fall on this nation like never before!! Now is the time. Until next time.

I am from Seattle. I would love to know where revival is breaking out there. Praise God that He is moving in what is one of the most “unchurched” cities in our country. Please post back specifics of what you have heard. amie

Shawn, my viewpoint is pretty far away — I live in Helsinki, Finland. But even from here, it seems something is really happening in the US. I’m not sure what you mean by “God”, but some kind of awakening is definitely taking place. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but I can see it happening over here too. I’m not talking about something related to any specific religion; it’s something much bigger.
You can call it God, Love, Unity… or call it nothing at all and just live feeling it’s presence and power.
